Twenty-Eight Fire, EMS Companies Recipients of Grants, Roae Says
February 11, 2025
HARRISBURG — Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) today announced that 28 fire and emergency medical services companies serving the 6th Legislative District were awarded more than $382,000 in Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services grants.
“While not large amounts, this grant program provides important funding for smaller needs of our fire and ambulance companies,” Roae said. “Even one less fundraiser allows for more time devoted to protecting our community. I strongly supported the legislation that bolstered this program and remain committed to helping our emergency responders.”
The grant program was initiated in 2000 and is open to volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services and rescue squads in Pennsylvania. Grant awards can be used for construction or repair of facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, debt reduction and training. The funding amounts are contingent on the recipients filing their grant agreements with the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.
